For twenty-five years, Barbara Krai has helped hundreds of residential and commercial clients create their own distinctive space, expressing their unique lifestyle vision. Having worked in Ohio and Texas, she now resides in Florida and holds a state license for Interior Design. As a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Barbara possesses the highest professional certification in the field of interior design, awarded by the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ).
Barbara is a nationally recognized designer. In 1995 Gifts and Decorative Accessories magazine presented her with its national store design award at the Plaza Hotel in New York City for the creation of her highly successful gifts and interior design store, Milieu. She has also received two Interior of the Year awards (Commercial Space) from the ASID-Ohio North Chapter and a First Place Individual Space Award from the ASID-Florida West Coast Chapter, among other awards.
Barbara's work has been featured in numerous publications. Housetrends Tampa Bay, for example, has featured three of Barbara's designs: a mountain lodge-style home juxtaposed with contemporary interiors; an elegant spa master bath; and the renovation of her home and design studio on Tampa Bay. In addition, the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Cleveland Magazine have featured many of her award-winning designs.
Throughout her career, Barbara has generously contributed her time to the wider community, serving on a number of boards, commissions, and task forces. Most recently, Barbara has developed a line of big cat-related luxury gifts and home accessories in collaboration with Big Cat Rescue, an internationally prominent sanctuary for big cats.
